Online shopping

Does shopping always make you tired? Do you feel upset that you cannot buy all things in one place? Now there is a new way for people can to shop easily. Online shopping is a new tendency for ways of shopping. Maybe you never shop online, but you should know what online shopping is. All things have both sides: positive and negative. Somebody thinks online shopping is good because that can save your time. But some people think online shopping has big risks. Although online shopping has different arguments, people cannot deny that online shopping is a global trend.

I believe that online shopping is good for our life. It makes our life become easier because people don’t have to take one or two hours to walk on streets. They can buy all things they need online. People don’t have to go out in winter or summer. They can just stay at home, open the computer and shop online. Also, shopping online is safe. People don’t have to worry about their information outflow. And people don’t have to go to many stores to find what they want or compare the prices. Online shopping can fix these questions at the same time. Therefore, online shopping has become popular now.

First, online shopping is convenient. In “Stay safe while shopping online” the author states, “There’s no question that shopping online is convenient. Online buying is not only a timesaver, but it allows you to get great deals when you compare prices of the same item from different online shops. The Internet is like a central shopping mall, where you can find just about everything you might need – from groceries and clothing to collectibles and hard-to-find replacement parts” (2008, para. 1). People can save their time on shopping and see different goods online. They even can find some special goods online that aren’t sold in the stores. So, online shopping is good for people who don’t have time to go out for shopping.

Next, online shopping is safer than people think. People can use credit card to shop online. That is the safest way for online shopping. The credit card companies and famous websites both spent a lot of money for protecting consumers’ information (Protect Yourself, 2008). So, people feel free to shop online. Also, people can know how much they spent online as soon as possible. In “Five tips for safe online shopping” the author states, “With online account access, you don’t have to wait for your statement to arrive in the mail to see what’s been charges to your account. If someone has taken your card number and is using it, you will know within a day or two, and you can minimize the damage” (2008, para. 23). Therefore, people will be safe when shopping online.

Finally, people can compare the prices in different websites with different goods. “Online shopping has become a convenient alternative to the traditional brick-and-mortar store. It has provided a method of easily finding what you’re looking for or the best price without ever leaving your home, yet still some consumers still shy away because they believe it’s too risky” (Is using credit-card for online purchase safe?, 2008, para. 1). And sometimes the websites’ price will be cheaper than the stores because online shops will have extra discount. So, online shopping will save people’s money.

In conclusion, online shopping is better than usual shopping. People can save their time, power, and money. And it doesn’t have time limit because stores will close, but the online shop won’t. So, people can shop every time even in holidays or midnights. Online shopping makes people’s life improved. And online shopping will become necessary in our life. Therefore, people have to catch the trend now.

You know what turtles are, but your children might not know what turtles look like. They might not even know there is an animal called turtle in the world. Dose this not scare you? This situation might probably come true. That’s because turtles are endangered and getting less and less. “At least 8,354 Olive Ridley turtles have been found dead on the beaches and near the river mouths” (Thousands of Olive Ridley massacred again, 2008, para. 6). In India, people use mechanized trawlers for fishing, but the nets not only catch fish but also catch turtles. When turtles want to escape, they will get hurt from the nets. If turtles get hurt, they cannot live longer. And then turtle’s amounts have become less. Even though the India government wants people to stop using nets, it doesn’t work. People still use nets because fishing is the only way they can get the money for supporting their life. “In the past 14 years, more than 130,000 turtles have been found dead on the Orissa coast, which has earned it the dubious title of being the ‘world’s largest turtle graveyard’” (Thousands of Olive Ridley massacred again, 2008, para. 12). This situation shows that endangered turtles’ problems have become more serious than before; people have to protect turtles. Otherwise, turtles will become extinct. Many groups are trying to solve this problem. They use all measures for protection, including asking for police’s help (Thousands of Olive Ridley massacred again, 2008). “Discarded nets are causing untold damage to sea life” (Ocean ghosts wait for the unwary, 2008, para. 1). Humans have responsibility for saving turtles because human activities cause turtles’ death. If turtles die, the ecological system will be destroyed. Some species will be strong and some will disappear. No one can imagine how terrible the ecosystem under the water will be. People have to prevent this situation from happening. Therefore, humans have to find some solutions for endangered turtles.

In “Sea turtles face threat from India ports plan” the author states, “Over the past 13 years, more than 130,000 Olive Ridleys have been washed up dead in the area, after being caught in the nets of trawlers and gill netters. And now the species (is) listed as ‘vulnerable’ by the World Conservation Union” (2007, para. 4). Most articles mention one thing, which is the Olive Ridley turtles are going extinct. The main reason that the articles show is that people abuse nets. In “Olive Ridley Sea Turtles” the author states, “Olive Ridleys suffer high mortality rates from gill nets and trawl fisheries” (n.d. para.9). That is a big amount of turtles that die because of nets. So, people have to stop using nets. Also water and beach pollution are threats for turtles. People throw trash into the water or on the beach. That trash can cause turtles’ death, because turtles don’t know whether it is food or not. People can see some pictures that show there is some trash in turtles’ dead bodies. So, polluted water and beaches are problems now. “Nearly 50 per cent of the world’s Olive Ridley population turn up at the Orissa coast ever year and use the nesting sites to lay eggs on the beach” (India: Sea erosion threat to Olive Ridleys, 2008, para. 6). “If the erosion of beaches continue with such a pace, it wouldn’t be surprising if the nesting turtles abandon the Orissa coast altogether,” said the secretary of the Wildlife Society of Orissa (WSO)” (India: Sea erosion threat to Olive Ridleys, 2008, para. 7). “Once the ports start being operational, the erosion would be unstoppable. “’Unless the government erects a sea wall across the entire 476km stretch along the Orissa coastline,’ the secretary said” (2008, para. 13). Many problems cause turtles’ death. And every year the amount of dead turtles is more than people can imagine. Therefore, people have to stop doing harmful activities and make some solutions. Then, turtles will have more chance to live.

First, humans caused this situation; turtles are endangered. In “Thousands of Olive Ridleys massacred again” the author states, “More than 8,000 endangered Olive Ridley turtles are said to have been killed over past three months by mechanized trawlers along the Orissa coast in eastern India, home to the world’s largest nesting site for turtles” (2008, para.1). Humans also killed turtles for their meat and eggs. That’s because some people believe that eating turtles could make them healthier. In “Olive Ridley Sea Turtle” the author states, “ Of all the sea turtles, olive ridley populations are relatively healthy. Still, there are so few left that in 1978, the U.S. Endangered Species Act (ESA) listed the Mexican nesting populations of olive ridleys as endangered – and all others throughout the world as threatened, and at this time, the International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources (IUCN) lists all populations of olive ridleys as endangered. Olive ridleys are also listed on Appendix I of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Fauna and Flora (CITES), which means that trade in olive ridleys, their eggs or any part or product derived from the turtles is forbidden” (n. d., para. 7). And the water pollution also is a problem for turtles. In “Olive Ridley Sea Turtle” the author states “Olive Ridleys also fall victim to water pollution. Adding to these environmental hazards, the Olive Ridley is jeopardized by trade, too: highly prized in Japan for its meat and eggs, the turtles are illegally hunted to supply this trade” (n. d. para.9). Polluted beaches is also a threat for turtles because the beach is the nesting site for turtles. “Wildlife conservationists are already concerned as progressive erosion has created an unstable beach profile along the coast” (India: Sea erosion threat to Olive Ridleys, 2008, para. 2). “It has started to destroy the most preferred nesting grounds of endangered sea turtles” (para. 3). If the beach’s situation becomes serious, turtles don’t have nesting site to live in. That will quicken their death. These are the reasons for turtles’ deaths. Therefore, people have to stop doing these actions to protect turtles.

Second, technology can protect turtles. Our technology is very progressed. So, people can use our technology to fix some problems. For example, people can use artificial incubation. And then we can change some genes that will help turtles have a strong life. They will not die easily when they are young. And their numbers will grow. Also that can help them accept the environmental change. Or people also can use technology to clean the trash or pollutants in the water or beach. That can reduce the numbers of turtles’ death. That is a way that turtles might not be extinct so quickly. Also, people can rescue turtles by technology. In “India: Olive Ridley turtle rescued from Juhu dies” the author states, “At the start of the monsoon this year, three full-grown turtles were rescued – one from the Juhu beach and two from Cuffe Parade – and sent to the BSPCA. Olive Ridley turtles, known for their group nesting activity on the shores of Orissa every winter, are listed as endangered in the International Union for the Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources (IUCN) Red list” (2008, para. 3). People can use advanced technology for saving turtles because they have enough time to send turtles to hospitals. That can reduce the death amount of turtles. “Meanwhile, the forest department has handed over 10-kg carcass to taxidermist Dr Santosh Gaikwad for preservation. Gaikwad said, ‘ I have started working on preservation of the turtle and it will be complete in about two months’ (India: Olive Ridley turtle recurred from Juhu dies, 2008, para. 5). That shows people can protect turtles by prevention. Don’t wait until turtles die. People can protect turtles before they die.

Third, government can use some ways to stop people from killing or catching turtles. For example, government should stop people from using nets for turtles or arrange a place that turtles usually assemble when people cannot use nets for fishing. Making laws is always a good and quick way to set people to stop doing such harmful activities. Also government can make a good model for protecting turtles. And then people will follow the ways that the government did. If that works, turtles can be protected. And we don’t worry that turtles will be extinct. In “ Ocean ghosts wait for the unwary; Marine life” the author states, “Luckily for the turtles, there are “ghost busters” who are determined to rid the gulf of these environmental vandals” (2008, para. 7). “Riki Gunn is one of the ghost busters. She is the project co-ordinator for the Carpentaria ghost nets program” (2008, para. 8). “So far the program has removed 80,141 metres of net from remote areas in the gulf” (2008, para. 9). Government can cooperate with environmental groups. That can help the government to protect turtles more easily. On the other hand, local people can use nets for making some souvenirs for tourists. That can help people have extra income (Ocean ghosts wait for the unwary; Marine life, 2008). “The community knows what will and won’t work for them. They understand the local attitudes, capabilities and most importantly the environment that they live in” (Ocean ghosts wait for the unwary; Marine life, 2008, para. 25). “’I can see (the floating fishing nets will be eliminated) happening in my lifetime but there needs to be lots of co-operation between governments to bring in registration of fishing gear,’ Gunn says” (2008, para. 29). So, government can use different ways to protect turtles. They have a lot of resources that they can use. Therefore, endangered turtles can be rescued.

Opponents say that even though turtles are endangered, it is not a problem for our life. They said our life would not have any problem if we don’t have turtles. Human still can live. Human won’t die if there are not turtles in the world. However, if there are no Olive Ridley turtles, the ecosystem will have big problems. The ecosystem will lose its balance. “Omnivorous, (Olive Ridley turtles) feed in waters up to 500 feet deep. With their powerful jaws, they consume a varied diet: bottom-dwelling crustaceans, mussels, fish, jellyfish, crabs, shrimp, and mollusks” (Olive Ridley Sea Turtle, n. d., para. 3). Some species will get bigger and some species will get less. That will influence all marine animals. Species will disappear one by one. After that there might not be anything in the water. That still would influence human life, because people wouldn’t have seafood they could catch. Also turtles are very useful for research. People still research some species that we don’t know or we didn’t discover. Turtles’ evolution is interesting for bionomist. So, people cannot let turtles become extinct, or some important information might be lost. Turtles have their own evolution in the water ecosystem.

In conclusion, any species is valuable. Humans have to learn how to respect each species. They also have life. People cannot kill them so easily. As a result, people have to protect turtles. They have to stop using nets and some harmful tools. That will hurt turtles’ body when people are fishing. Turtles’ bodies are weaker than people can imagine. Next, people can use technology to fix the problem of endangered turtles. People can embed the Id in turtles’ bodies. That can control turtles’ situation everywhere. Then, people can prevent some situations. Then people can prepare for saving turtles. Finally, Government should have power to stop people from using nets. Environmental groups are the good helper for protecting turtles with the government. If people can do these, turtles will have the chance to live. But first is that people have the mind that we have to protect turtles.

happy memories

I always remember the new year's time. That is the time we can meet our relatives. Also children can get many red envelpoes form our parent. we will eat together and chat all night. I like the time because when I was a child only that days I didn't have to go to bad early. I can play all night!
The time with my friends also is a good memory. During the weekends or vocation, we will meet together to do something. Something we will chating or shopping. Sometime we just search some delicious foods and eat. we don't have secret between us. we shared all things together. Although I am in America now, I can still remember the time we had.
I thing abroad always are a good memory. I can remember my first time I go abroad. Some travel I even can remember the specific details.
I thing because of memories, that make our life more splendid. When you are old, you still have remember something that make your life interesting. Create memories when you are young, that will make you life better. That is my friend told me. And I always believe that. So, I try to create memories every moment.

Vacation

If you ask me which city is good for visit, my answer is Japan. I went to Japan with my mom when I was a child. Everything is so cute and beautiful there. I still can remember some cute stuff. The most special thing is that Japan has a lot of cartoons. And they make the roles become real stuff such as watches, pens, bags, and so on. Last time I went to Japan, I bought a Hello Kitty doll, although it cost me much money. Some people like Japan because of sushi, sashimi or plum wine, but I go to Japan just for Hello Kitty. Also, I like to go skiing in Japan, because it doesn’t snow in Taiwan. And Japanese chocolate taste very good. Everyone should buy it. I recommend people should go to Japan and buy a lot of chocolate and small stuff. But people have to notice one thing: controlling your money. If you don’t, you will be broke after you travel, because Japanese prices are very high.

Food

My favorite dish is rice porridge. But I didn’t cook well; my father cooks more delicious food than I do. This dish is very complex to make, because it has a lot of steps and food. According to my father, at first, you have to put ribs into hot water and cook them about two or three hours. That is for the soup, to make soup that has more nutrition. Next, put rice that you haven’t cooked into the soup. That will make rice more delicious. This step needs about half hour. And then, put in fish, vegetable, eggs, shrimps, mushrooms, bamboo shoots and meat. Then you have to make sure all food has cooked very well. And cook all food on a small fire and close the cover. After one hour, you can eat it. This dish has to take a long time. I am lazy and some food I cannot find in America. So, I have never cooked this food since I came here. I really miss this food my father made.

the time i am alone

I am a strange person, I think. I like the time alone more than the time with friends. There is a sentence say that you have to enjoy the time alone first, then you can enjoy the tome with friends. Even though I like alone, I still will spend sometime with my friends. When I with friends, I think I am not me. I think everyone will pretend something or hide something. So, I don' t like the me when I pretend. So, I like the time alone. I can relax myself. No one will see how crazy I am. I can shout. I can sing. I can do whatever I want and don't have to care others. But the most time when I am alone, I always think. Thinking what should I do in the future, the relationship, and my family. Sometime I will write them down, but usually I just let them go. My friends like to go to the beach when they are alone. But I just want to stay at my room and lack the door. No one can bother me. But sometime I will talk to my best friends and after talking we will go shopping. I think I like alone because you can have your own quite space. After I spend the time alone, I will feel more power. Then I can fight again!!!!

Language Learning

Remembering vocabulary is the hardest part in learning a language. There are three situations that happened often when people remember the vocabulary. First, people can remember, but they forget soon. Second, people mix all the vocabulary together. Third, people cannot remember the vocabulary. I think my problems are the first one and second one. So, the best way for me to remember the vocabulary is to write them on a paper and paste them on the wall of my room, table…where I can see and notice easily. That will help me to review all the time. And if I see them many times, I can remember them quickly. Then, I try to use them often; if people use a world one time, two times or more, that world will be yours.

my dreams

My dream often change quickly. When I was child, I wished I can be a teacher likes my mom. But when I was teenager, I did't want to be a teacher anymore. I thought that because I knew more about the world. And when I was senior high student, I wanted to be a secretary. Because I thought secretaries looks very pretty and competent. But after two weeks, I changed my mind. Because my classmate affected me. She wanted to be an airplane stewardess. So, I wanted to be the same with her. Of couse! I changed my mind again. I want to earn much money!!!!!! But I don't decide my job yet. I think if I want to earn much money. The first thing I should is improving my ability. But I think I am not a smart girl. So I will afraid that I cannot reach that goal and easy to give up. Sometime I will think what should I do if I don't have ant ability. Will I have a job in the future? Or I will be a beggar.
I think the horriblest thing is you never don't know what happen in the future.

Language Learning

Technology is improving more than before. Some electronic tools help people learn different languages quickly. In my
experience, I think technology is very helpful. For instance, using electronic dictionary can get meaning faster than paper
dictionary, and it is very easy to carry, although some people think paper dictionary can get the definition more clearly. But I
think in a journal electronic dictionary’s definitions are enough. And electronic dictionary can save more time. Internet also is
a good invention. People can chat with people from different countries online. And people can get different advice and
information for leaning a language. So, using technology can help people learn language more quickly.

Thousands of Olive Ridley massacred again

In the author’s (2008) article, “Thousands of Olive Ridley massacred again,” he states that more and more Olive Ridley Turtle are killed in India. The Orissa coast is the place for turtle breeding but it’s not safe anymore. At least 8,000 turtle’s dead bodies have been found at the beach, and that is not including other coasts in India. The biggest reason is people use mechanized trawlers. Trawlers will kill turtles even though some turtles are lucky, and they can get away from trawlers. But they will die very soon, because they get serious damage in the process. India government has created some ways to settle these problems, but they don’t work. For instance, government states that if people who kill or sell turtles are found, they have to go to jail. But so far no one has been arrested. And then turtle’s dead bodies are still found at the beach. As a result, turtles are going to move towards extinction soon.

After reading this article, I think protection and slaughter can be balanced. In India most people are poor. Turtles can bring wealth for Indians because turtles have very high value of turtlebacks. No one wants to live in poverty and the one way to earn money is to sell turtles. And I think government can use different ways to solve these problems, not just forbiddance. And I also believe in survival of the fittest, the way species survive. I don’t think protection is always right; if people want to live, then people have to lose some species.

First, people should be able to kill turtles alarm appropriate range. In India people are poor; they need to sell turtles to support their life. Human’s life is more important than turtle’s. It doesn’t mean turtle’s life is not important, but if killing turtles can save a hundred or more people’s lives, why don’t people do that? Protecting turtles is important, but protecting poor people is more important. And turtles are very useful; some part of a turtle’s body can be medicine. This way can bring wealth to poor people and also can save people’s life. And we can control turtle’s amount at necessary range. Turtles won’t be extinct because our technology can breed turtles. Therefore, killing turtles is possible in a controllable range.

Second, the Indian government cannot just forbid killing. Protecting turtles is good, but the government has to think of the situation of the country before. If people are poor, they don’t have the ability to protect turtles. And the government is just like a clown; nobody will follow the rules. What the government should do is figure out the economic part of turtles for people’s lives. Don’t just save turtles, save people. Government can make a number of turtles that people can kill. Then government doesn’t have to worry about whether people kill too many turtles. That is because people accept that any number of turtles to kill is better than none. And government also can ask people to protect turtles’ eggs at the beach. Protective movements should be step by step. They should use the way people can easily understand and follow. It will make the success rate of turtle protection higher.

Third, turtle’s death is not all human’s fault. Nature goes its own way. Turtles die will be recycled as new born. If humans push the word progress, the environment will be somewhat destroyed. It is inevitable. The weak are the prey of the strong. People want world improvement. For this reason, some species will be extinct. But new species will be born and adapt to the environment. Dinosaurs die because they cannot adapt to the climate. That is the same reason as the turtles. Turtles cannot adapt to the environment, so they will die. Therefore, people are not the slaughterers of turtles.

In conclusion, people can protect turtles if they have the ability. Humans have high technology, so people can try their best to protect turtles. Protective movement is a personal choice. People cannot force someone to protect turtles. But government can establish laws to make the protective group or movement have more resources and power. Try to use the way people can really adapt and help. For example, limit the amount of turtles that people can catch and arrest people who catch over that amount. Use some real examples to make people understand that catching too many turtles not only hurts turtles, but also hurts them. People can affect people and then more and more people will care about turtles. As a result, more and more turtles will be protected.

halloween vs ghost month

In my countey, we don't have any holiday in this month. But we do have a month about dead.
In chinese lunar calender, July is the month about dead. In 7th, July, the day there is a door open for ghosts. It means that in ordinary days ghosts cannot get into this world until 7th, July. And people will prepare some food and offer sacrifice to them. The door will close at the end of July. Ghosts will go back to the nether world again until next July. In that month, people will avoid next to water or take planes. Because In chinese custom, ghosts will catch someone to substitute for ghosts. Then if ghosts catch someone, ghosts can have life again. People will care their action and the words our use. Because people cannot say somethong or do something that are unpolite to ghosts. And people will go to temple to pray for safety.
In July, there are so many movies about ghosts because July is the month for ghosts. So movies will be more horrible than usual monthes. And teenager will go to theater and see. But I am very scared to ghosts, so I won't do that.



















Because other pictures are too scared, so .....I don't have courage to put them on my blogger.

Language Learning

 

Learning a second language is not easy for most people because different languages have different rules. And that is difficult for people who have already gotten used to their own language. Language is a thing to show a countries history and is also close to daily life. In my opinion, learning a second language, the best way is to live in a local city. It is better and more useful than when people learn languages in their own country. This is because people can learn local slang or teenager words when people live in a local city. But if people want to try this way, they have to have a lot of money. So if people don’t have enough money to go abroad, they can read some second language novels or chat with people who are foreigners online. Both ways are the ways to connect to a local city.  That is because they will use some words different from textbooks. Ocean ghosts wait the unwary; Marine life

 

In Blacklock’s (2008, October 15) article, “Ocean ghosts wait for the unwary; Marine life,” she states that ghost nets have become a worldwide and serious problem. Discarded nets kill many species in the ocean, which include the Olive Ridley Turtle. Some groups of people want to solve this problem. For example, they have created a program which removes a lot of nets. But they cannot solve the problem exactly; the local people are the important people who can solve the problem. Therefore the government has to help fishers stop using the nets and establish some program which is about environmental protection. If fishers don’t use nets, the sea animals might have more protection and they can live longer.

The author’s opinion is right. People have to stop using nets. If people want to rescue this situation, the only way is to stop using nets. Nets kill many species including endangered animals. But nets are not the only way which can hurt animals. People throw the trash to the ocean which also can cause animals’ death. Factories pollutants and hot water are discharged into ocean, and then the ocean loses its balance of temperature. People should pay more attention to the ocean. Then the ocean won’t be sick.

First, there are some area people who still use nets when they are fishing. But they don’t know that nets will kill endangered animals. The government should increase fishers’ environmental knowledge. For example, government can make a program about how it is harmful for ocean animals if people use nets. Olive Ridley Turtle is getting less and less and that’s because people use nets. If people don’t stop this action, Olive Ridley Turtle will disappear one day.

Second, Olive Ridley Turtle die quickly because they are confused about trash and food. Turtle cannot separate them, so they eat trash when they are hungry. And there is so much pollution in trash, turtle will be sick and die if they eat it. The number of Olive Ridley Turtle is very small, so people have to pay more attention to them. If people don’t care about them, the turtle will die quickly. What people should do is stop throwing trash into ocean. And clean the ocean as much as possible. Then turtle will have a clean space to live.

Third, People cannot eliminate this problem, but people can reduce the damage. For example, factories discharge hot and polluted water into the ocean after they use it. Then water flows into the ocean, and pollution also flows into the ocean. Pollution makes some base animals die, and turtles don’t have food to eat. Then turtles die. Also the hot water makes turtle die. The hot water will raise the ocean’s temperature, but the turtle cannot adapt to the temperature. Then turtle becomes weaker and weaker and they die. People won’t stop doing this action because factories support economics. People need factory work. But people can do some remedy. For instance, people can filter pollution and cool the water. When the water flows into the ocean, it will be less harmful to the ocean.

In conclusion, people should stop doing something that will hurt ocean animals. People don’t notice ocean animals because they live in the ocean, which is a world that people don’t know. And people think the ocean is very big, so people throw anything in the ocean. People don’t have enough knowledge about the ocean environment. People should raise their awareness and affect others. Then the ocean environment will be noticed and focused on. The ocean animals will have more protection.

I never have boyfriend. I think is that the gooooooooood boy is extinct.....T^T

I think have a bf is good. When you sad or happy, you can share emotion to him. And you can 

have the same memories. But my mom say, "you cannot have bf until you get in university." So...

I am a good daughter =) And my friends have bad experience about their relationship...

They tell me how their bf do something they don't like and then they fight..... gosh...!!

It is so terrible. Why women have to have bf ? I think women can be independent. No men is 

fine!!!!!  No one will control your emotion. You don't have to worry about if he doesn't love you.

I am a girl. And girls always have beautiful image. I think my bf don't have to be handsome but 

cannot be ugly. And he must can cook. I like the man who can cook very well. =) I think that because my father is a good cooker. And he has good at sport. The same reason upper. My father can play tennis very well.XD  I think I have some Electra complex...maybe..haha  

break time

After CESL finish, I always happppppppppppppppy!!! because i can relax finally~ho...

During the CESL term, I alwats busy. So I usually sleep at least one day after CESL end.

But sleep all day is very boring, so I will go shopping!!haha

Walmart, U-mall are the place I usually go. But I don't have much money.....so sometime I just window shopping XD. I sometime will take a walk around my house, looking the tree or people.

It 's very funny when you stop and look. And I also will hand out with my friend.

This picture is we went to my friend's house. It's a potluck party. After eating, we are playing mahjung. Mahjung, a chinese game, is very similar to poker. The green things on the table is Mahjung. It's not difficult to learn but when you begin to play, you will be confused. Because the rules are very complex. After playing tree or four times, you will get better.XDD

Mahjung become my favorite game when my free time. But don't play too much, that is what my mom tall meXD.

Communication

 

Technology spreads fast and is more convenient now. People can use different ways to communicate with others. For example, in the past, phone was not very common, so people only could write letters. And it has to take a long time. But right now people can use phone easily. And the Internet is also useful technology. In my opinion, phone is the best way to chat with my friends or family. Phone doesn’t have a space limit. People can talk everywhere and every time with phone. And it doesn’t cost too much. But if people are in a foreign country, the Internet is the best way to communicate. That is because the phone fee is too expensive. So I choose the different way to communicate depending on different situation.

Animals ‘Hit by Global Warming’

 

In Hirsch’s (2008) article, “Animals ‘hit by global warming,’” he states that the environmental problem is getting serious. Many species are threatened with no habitat or food because icebergs dissolve or deserts extend. According to the scientists’ research, some species can adapt to this kind of condition. For example, migratory birds fly to a warming place. But still some group of animals cannot adapt to this climate change, such as polar bears. Because the ocean rises, polar bears’ habitat was covered. Therefore at the end of the meeting, chiefs want to find a way to solve this problem to help animals live. Because of that, if people don’t do anything, animals have no chance to live.

The author’s statement is right. People should do something for species because people have destroyed the environment deeply. Therefore animals don’t have a place to live or food to eat. Human has responsibility to solve environment problem. It is not too late to rescue this situation. Although environment problems have to take a long time to solve, if everyone can do some small things, the environment will be better than now. There are three ways that people can do to help the environment, planting trees, turning off the electronic equipment, and reducing air pollution.

First, planting trees is a way to spread to the future, because a tree’s life is longer than humans. People have to think about after and prepare for the future. Planting trees is the best way to reduce air pollution because trees can make oxygen. People cut trees more and more, but they didn’t think about the environment. Thus, carbon becomes more and more, because people cut trees down. Then carbon hurts ozone. Earth becomes warmer than before. Then icebergs dissolve. The land is covered by the water. Some habitat was disappeared. Planting trees’ effect is not showing quickly, but people still should plant trees. Rome was not built in a day. Environment problem also cannot be solved in recent years. But if people can do this right now, one day the environment will show what people do before.

Second, we should turn off electronic equipment after we use it. For example, people can turn off the light before leaving. If everyone does this, people can reduce a lot of power use. In many countries, most electronics are made by nuclear energy. But nuclear energy will produce nuclear waste. Nuclear waste is very harmful to the environment.  However, people cannot stop using electronic equipment because people’s life depends on electronics. But people can decrease unnecessary power usage. Then, the environment problem might be controlled. And the species can be protected also.

Third, if everyone can try to reduce technology use, I believe that the air pollution will be reduced. Now technology has made people’s lives more convenient and has supported the economy. For instance, people use cars and motorcycles, rather than using bicycles or walking. We have factories instead of handiwork. But when people benefit from what technology gives, they don’t think more about what bad influence it has on the environment. In recent years, people have started noticing that the environment has been hurt by technology. The most important problem is air pollution. Air pollution that people made is more than people think. That’s why the ozone broke. Because ozone broke, people have begun to face this serious air pollution problem that people created. And people have started to think of the way to reduce the pollution and reduce technology people use. For example, people can take a walk or use public transportation instead of private cars..

In conclusion, the environment’s problem is not a personal problem, but is a worldwide problem. It can influence humans and animals. There are so many factors that cause the environment problem. But the most important thing is people’s mind. That is because if people want the environment to get better, they will try hard to solve these problems with many ways and much money. People just have only one earth. If people don’t protect it, then there is no place to live. Thinking about the environment before people do something will hurt the environment. We should protect the environment from usual life.

Travel

 

Travel is an important part in people’s life now. People want to go traveling for relaxation. But there are so many ways people can choose such as by plane, car or train. Which way will be the most comfortable for people is very considerable. For me, I will choose car. First, people can stop the place what they want. For example, the train only can stop by train station and plane also just can stop by airport. But the car can stop next to the road or where people want. Second, people don’t have time limited. For example, people have to follow the schedule the train stations or airports express. But if people drive by themselves, they don’t have this problem. People can decide the time they want. Also people don’t have to worry if they cannot catch the train or plane. As the result, I choose car more than other ways because it is comfortable and convenient. 

school

In Taiwan, every school students wear uniform until university. Different school has different uniform. This is my school's uniform for exercise. There are my friends. Some students will choice uniform first then school. They study these school because there uniforms are beautiful.

Hight school in Taiwan is students nightmare because students have to study all day even in weekend. They want to get in a good university so they have to study hard than others. And parents will compare their friends whose daught or son get in a good university or bad. Also, parents will choice the major what they like for their children such as lawyer or doctor.

The special day in school is sports day. We will wear our major's uniform.

In my school different major have different uniform. the uniform design by students not school.

In sports day, we don't have class. we just go to school and cheer for our team.

This is the 400m race for boys .

TEA

In Taiwan, tea is very famous and popular. I think is Taiwan's weather is very good for growing tea trees. Of course, I like to drink tea, milk tea, green tea, and oolong tea. They real taste gooooooooood!!!

If you come to Taiwan, there is one thing you can not miss. "MILK TEA"

Milk tea is black tea mix milk. But in Taiwan, we put the pearl in tea. Not real pearl, pearl is one kind of food in Taiwan. In America, I real miss pearl milk tea....

And it also not expensive just a dollar!!

In taiwan i drink pearl milk tea almost every day.

But it has many calories.

If you drink a lot, you will get fater and fater.

Just like me haha

so don't drink too much if you drink it.

moVie

Movie is not so famous in Taiwan. Because in Taiwan the ticket is expensive....!!= =a

The poor students cannot pay this entertainment very often. We just can wait for the DVD...(sad...). But if the film is very charming us, we will go to the theater. Bexause We CANNOT wait!!!! The foreign movie is very popular. Don't ask me....I don't know why... OH YEAH!! Maybe is the foreign men and women are too handsome and beauitful. Maybe Taiwanese movie has less market. Maybe Taiwanese don't want to see Taiwanese in the movie, you know let is very..... weird...!_"_

I like all of the romantic and happy endind movie. I don't like to see the tragedy. In the real life, romantic and happy ending are very less in it. OF COURSE! You have to see something perfect in the movie. Then you will think OH~The World Still PERFECT!!! I know I an cheating myself...

Oh ! The best film I like is ""PRIDE & PREJUDICE"".

Elizabeth and Darcy are look so classical and noble. And the British they say are so pleasant to hear. I like the scenes also. especially Darcy ask Elizabeth to marry him in the rain. OOOOOOOOOOh....SO HandSome!!!!!!!!!

I really want to say I DO!!! hahaha

music/ opera

Have you ever watched about operas? If not, I really suggest you to watch operas. It's not like pop or rock music. This picture is an opera about Notre-Dame de Paris. I first time saw that was 10 years old. But I was too young to understand that, so I feel bored and confuse. After five years, I saw that again. This time I am very enjoy the opera. And then I am addicted to opera. When a new opera present, I will ask my mom go to see the performance. And my favorite opera is Romeo and Juliet. It's a sad story and the main characters are very handsome and beautiful. These opera is talking about that the Capulets and the Montagues had been fighting with each other for years. In the party, Romeo loved Juliet at the first sight, and Juliet loves Romeo, too. Therefore, Romeo invited the Friar, Laurence, to marry them.The next day, Romeo told the good news to nurse of Juliet, but later Romeo had a fight with Tybalt and kills him. Therefore, Romeo was exiled. At that time, Juliet promised to marry to Paris. The Friar talked Juliet that has a drug that will make Juliet appear dead for 42 hours, and Juliet took it. Therefore, Juliet was sent to the burial vault of the Capulets. The far-away Romeo heard the bad news and thought it was true because the Friar didn't take the letter on time. Romeo bought poison for die with Juliet. At that night, Romeo arrived at the burial vault, and came across Paris then killed him. Romeo took Paris to the burial vault and drank poison. Later, Laurence came on and Juliet was awake. She saw Romeo die so she took a dagger and stabbed herself. After hearing the news, the Capulets and the Montagues also came. By hearing the explanation of Laurence, they decided to make friends again. If you are interested in operea, you can see Romeo and Juliet at first time!!

the mooncakes

Hey guys, see you again. I think this topic is very clear to you to understand what i am talking

about. Right! The Mooncakes. Why were I choose this food? Because I like

too many foods, I cannot decise which one is the best. And then I think the Moon

Festival is comming, so maybe I can introduce you about the traditional festival in Taiwan.

See, why am I so smart?! HAAAAAA. OK. Be serious! Maybe you cannot really know what

the mooncakes are. But don't worry!!! After reading this article, you will konw. I am a good

teacher. :") just kidding. XD

First, what is the mooncake? The mooncake is a kind of cookie. But

there are somethings in it such as pineapple, mung beans, egg yolk and

so on. In Taiwan we won't eat the mooncake in usual days. We just eat

the mooncake on the Moon Festival or you can call the Mid-Autumn

Festival. By the way,

the Moon Festival of this year is on September 14, 2008. Actually, my mom mail me

the mooncakes. So ~ if you want to taste, please come to find

me!!!!!! I will very welcome or you can leave a message for me.

Second, how does it made? It made by flour, sugar, butter, oil, water.

You have to put them together and let them become a paste. Then

separate the paste to the small size and put what you want to eat inside. After that put them

into the toaster. Waiting about half hour, and you can eat. I will suggest you please do not make

by yourself. There are so many things to prepare. It will make you tired, so go to the store and

buy it. That's more easier. I am a lazy girl, haha.

I will talk more next time if you are interested in Taiwan's food. XD

This my first time came to America. I

imaged that America is a very big state brfore,

but when i got here i was still shocked. There

were too many fields and forests. And the campus

was big. At first time I went to CESL, I got lost in

the campus. I really can not understand is that

what Walmart so far away is. I even can't walk to there. I think if I walk to

Walmart, I might not go to class tomorrow because my legs won't be mine anymore. Besides that

I think Carbondale is a goooooooood place! It is very quiet. I like quiet place. :'')

Let's talk about me, ha. My name is Chen, a very strange

name, but I still like it. I have not short but not long hair. I wish

my hair could grow quickly. I came from Taiwan not China. I

like to read in Chinese, ha. Right now I'm really missing Taiwan's

food. It does not mean American food is bad, but I will get fatter

and fatter if I eat a lot. Noooooo! I won't let it happen!!

That's some parts about me. The others are secret, ha!
